About this Blog

Welcome to Emtakool.com!

Why do so many of us fail in our attempts to lose weight?

Why is being fit and healthy equated with being a chore?

Traditional workouts in a gym can be dull and boring.  Most people lack the financial resources to afford a personal trainer and often pay into gym memberships that they will seldom or never use.  The fitness business model is counting on you to not show up.

Imagine a scenario where everyone in your gym was motivated to attend on a regular basis – it would be a logistical nightmare.  There is a better way to get fit and stay healthy.

Indoor fitness = mentally detached physical monotony

Notice the TV monitors used for distraction from your workouts. Complete fitness should involved the mind and spirit!

Get Out!

There are several benefits to working out outdoors:

1. Greater feelings of revitalization
2. Increased energy levels
3. Positive engagement
4. Decreased stress and tension
5. Higher potential of repeating the exercise

The next obvious question would be “What are the best outdoor exercises for me?”  That’s the best part!  That’s where the adventure begins!  There is no limit to what you can try. There is a beauty and excitement in discovering and learning new activities.  Add the great outdoors to that experience and now you have a fitness lifestyle that you will enjoy no matter what your age.

Long Island, NY is filled with fun areas and activities that aren’t common knowledge.  Emtakool.com will hopefully take the guesswork out of finding where these locations are and the tips and tricks to successfully participate in your chosen activity.

Fitness is BIG $$$
Everywhere you look there are shysters selling the latest and greatest in fitness programs and trends.   This blog will also hope to provide transparency to these weight loss crazes and give you some food for thought before signing that gym membership contract or buying the newest fitness fad.

The “Masses are Asses”
If you are like me and think that the “masses are asses” and prefer to work out alone (or with a very select group of people) then this blog is definitely for you.  Facebook stats aside, most of us prefer to be with  those whom we are comfortable with.

With all the stresses of life,  time is extremely valuable and I’d rather not spend it navigating through a sea of egos and dooshbaggery.

I do not claim to be an expert in all of the activities I participate in. Hopefully the documentation of my experiences will make serve as a resource of info for those who want to try them.

Questions, Comments, Suggestions

If there is anything you would like to ask, contribute, or suggest feel free to post on this blog.  If I don’t have the answers I’ll be sure to find some who does.
